Strengthening District Health System in Sunsari and Morang districts
 

• Conducted regular community and hospital health checkup programme in Morang and Sunsari districts.
• Conducted regular school health Programme in the schools of Dharan Municipality.
• Conducted community oral health and school oral health program in these districts

• Teaching District program was expanded in two more districts, Koshi Zonal Hospital Biratnagar, Morang and Mechi Zonal Hospital Bhadrapur, Jhapa.
• Regular supervision was carried in all teaching districts.
• BDS internship programme was started in seven center of teaching district. Dental chairs including necessary logistics were provided to the entire teaching district.
• Hostels of interns of teaching district were facilitated with necessary logistic supports.
• Coordinated internship programme of MBBS in five teaching districts.- Dhankuta, Rangeli, Inaruwa, Illam and Rajbiraj. Interns with teachers were posted in above-mentioned districts.
• Coordinated residential posting of PG students at Inaruwa, Rangeli, Dhankutta, Ilam, Panchthar and Rajbiraj. Arrangements were made for the PG posting with the coordination of department of Family Medicine and concerning district health officer. Residential facilities for interns, residents and faculties at above places were arranged.

Field based academic activities

• Supported for the community field visit of MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing and Certificate Nursing students.
• Logistic supports was provided for the integrated Residential field Posting of 1st Year’s students of MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing.
• Logistic supports were provided to the rural field posting of B.Sc Nursing and Certificate Nursing students.
• Coordinated the posting of B.Sc Nursing and Certificate Nursing students at Dhankutta, Rangeli and Inaruwa district hospital for administrative management.

• Coordinated for conduction and supervision of National Immunization Day (NID) programme in Sunsari district, Department of Community Medicine, Paediatrics and MBBS, BDS, Nursing students were also involved in the NID programme at Dharan Municipality.
• Continuation of DOTS programmes in Sunsari District as well as in Dharan Municipality under the guidance and supervision of BPKIHS.
• Continuing weekly clinical services at Prakashpur health post by the doctors of BPKIHS.
• Coordinated for the implementation social insurance programme in different VDC of Sunsari, Morang and other areas.
• Regular weekly clinic for hearing promotion and prevention of deafness programme is continued in Tankisinwari, VDC of Morang. Orientations of teacher as well as local leaders were organized in 6 VDCs of Morang and Sunsari district. A training programme for the teachers was organized at BPKIHS.
• Cataract Operation was done with coordination of Netra Jyoti Sangha.
